For over a decade, Kristin Carver Smith, founder of The New Fashioned Co., has been a go-to publicist and storyteller for clients across a variety of industries including sports, entertainment & lifestyle, music, publishing, logistics and supply chain, nonprofits and for-profits.
Her clients have teamed up with some of the world’s most recognizable brands and organizations, appeared in front of Congress, received industry recognition and awards, taken the stage at renowned conferences and been featured on ABC’s Good Morning America, The View, NBC’s TODAY, CNN, CBS News, CNBC and in The Associated Press, Entrepreneur, ESSENCE, Fast Company, Forbes, Inc. Good Housekeeping, Sports Illustrated, The New York Times, The Washington Post, TIME, USA Today and US News and World Report, among others.
In 2024, Kristin survived a mental health emergency that altered the course of her life.
As a result, she stepped back from her career as a publicist, and turned to songwriting, music and therapeutic programming to heal.
Now, Kristin is returning to the spotlight, opening up about that experience on her podcast Just & Joyful with Kristin Carver Smith and her debut album, LIGHT THROUGH (Part 1 releases April 17, 2026). She believes that music is one of the most powerful vehicles for storytelling and advocacy, and she enjoys bringing her passion for communications to this medium.
With a love for storytelling in all its formats, Kristin recently expanded her work into film and television where she is an executive producer for an unscripted series in development that spotlights and follows the lives of female athletes. In this work, she combines her decades-long expertise working with talent and her eye for identifying untold, powerful stories that resonate with today’s audiences.
When Kristin isn’t producing, podcasting or publicizing new fashioned stories, she continues songwriting, performing music and delivering keynotes to audiences across the globe.
